Trading Range:

Nifty opened flat at 10845 on Thursday and made a high and low of 10845 and 10670 respectively before closing negative at 10705.

Review/Outlook:

For the day, support for Nifty exists at 10630 and 10570 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 10780 and 10860 levels.

Review/Outlook:

Bank Nifty opened flat at 27175, made a high of 27175, low of 26643, and closed negative at 26758. For the day, support for Bank Nifty exists at 26600 and 26400 levels whereas resistance for Bank Nifty stands at 26900 and 27100 levels.

In a bid to become carbon negative by 2040, cement manufacturer Dalmia Cement on Thursday announced that it will build a large scale carbon capture facility at its Tamil Nadu plant in 2-3 years. (BL).
Apollo Hospitals Group has tied up with US-based Zipline to launch Drone healthcare delivery solutions. The Hospital will explore and leverage drone technology to deliver emergency aids and organs, according to Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director. (ET).
In a bid to speed up adoption of electrical vehicles, Tata Motors on Thursday unveiled a new technology platform aimed at finding solutions to concerns such as range, power, durability, safety and charging infrastructure. (BL).
Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd (TNPL) has earmarked an outlay of Rs.2,520 crore for various expansion plans. This include Mill Expansion Plan in Unit II to produce 1.65 lakh tonnes of paper per annum by installing a paper machine of 400 tonnes per day chemical hardwood pulp mill with chemical recovery boiler; augmentation of captive power plant and waste water treatment plant. Laurus Labs, a research and development driven pharmaceutical company, has agreed to acquire 100% shares of Phekolong Pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary company of Pharmacare Ltd. t/a Aspen Pharmacare, South Africa. (ET).
Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has opened its Product Development and Innovation Centre (PD&IC) in Bengaluru with an investment of about Rs.220 crore. (BL).
Debt-laden Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS) has started repaying the creditors of three group entities, with outstanding claims of Rs 5,071 crore, according to an affidavit filed before an appellate tribunal on Thursday. (ET).
Axis Bank launched qualified institutional placement issue. The QIP base price was fixed at Rs 661.5 per share and up to 5 percent discount can be offered on the base price. The lender’s board will meet again on Sept. 25 to approve QIP issue to investors. The bank has started taking orders for an institutional share sale that’s seeking to raise $1.4 billion according to terms for the deal. (BQ).
Bharat Forge acquired 50 percent stake in its German company Refu Electronik for 11.35 million euros. (BQ).
Subhash Chandra-led Essel Group has got additional time of six months from mutual funds and non-banking financial companies (NBFC) to meet repayment schedule. (ET).
Economy and Sector News
Digital payments company Paytm on Thursday said it will invest Rs 250 crore in its travel business over the next six months. This investment will be used to scale up the product and technology team, set up new business verticals and raise market share in the existing travel vertical. (BL).
RenewSys, an integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic modules, encapsulants, backsheets and solar PV Cells, has launched innovative products at REI Noida assuring that these lower the cost of ownership. The company launched specialised Backsheet for high reflectance and a product that makes floating solar affordable. (ET).
The Central Government has approved 8.65 per cent interest rate on employees provident fund for 2018-19, which will now be credited into the accounts of over 6 crore subscribers of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), a source said on Thursday. The EPFO has been settling EPF withdrawal claims at 8.55 per cent interest rate, approved for 2017-18. Now, the EPFO will settle accounts on higher rate of 8.65 per cent for 2018-19. (BL).
Indian domestic carriers flew 3.87 per cent more passengers at 1.17 crore in August this year as compared to the 1.13 crore flown during the same period previously. IndiGo carried 55.41 lakh of the 1.17 crore passengers flown by the domestic industry followed by SpiceJet at 18.34 lakh and Air India (15.15 lakh). Go Air carried 13.91 lakh while Air Asia flew 7.63 lakh and Vistara (6.84 lakh). SpiceJet, reported the highest Passenger Load Factor (PLF) of 92.4 per cent among the domestic airlines in August followed by AirAsia (87.8 per cent), GoAir (87.5 per cent), IndiGo (84.3 per cent) and Vistara (81.8 per cent). Passenger load factor shows how many of the total seats on offer by each airline are getting filled. GoAir reported the best on-time performance (OTP) at 85.1 per cent followed by AirAsia (82.7 per cent), IndiGo (80.3per cent), Vistara (78.4 per cent), SpiceJet (70.8 per cent) and Air India (59.8 per cent) at the four metro airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. DJIA and NASDAQ Composite

US markets finished in a mixed state on Thursday, as investors continued to react to the Federal Reserve's latest policy announcement and got hopeful about trade talks between US and Chinese officials in Washington. The Dow Jones Index closed at 27,095, down 52.29 points by 0.19%. The Standard & Poors 500 index closed at 3,006, down 0.06 points by 0.00%. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 8,183, up 5.49 points by 0.07%.

FTSE 100

UK markets made small gains on Thursday as the Bank of England stood pat on interest rates and the US Federal Reserve cut them further. The FTSE 100 index closed at 7,356, up 42.37 points by 0.58%.

Asian share prices inched higher on Friday as economic stimulus around the world eased fears of economic deceleration while crude oil prices climbed on concerns that last weekend’s attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities still pose supply risks. Nikkei is currently trading at 22,171, up 126.15 points by 0.57%.

Precious Metals

Gold prices ended lower Thursday, marking their first loss in four sessions, a day after the Federal Reserve delivered a widely expected interest rate cut but left traders uncertain on the outlook for further monetary easing.

Base Metals

Base metals ended flat to lower on the London Metal Exchange on Thursday September 19- tin closed below $17,000 per tonne and copper below $5,800 per tonne.

Crude Oil

Oil prices bounced back on Friday on continued worries about the stability of oil supply as tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran showed little sign of abating after a weekend attack on Saudi oil installations.
