Trading Range:
Nifty opened gap down at 11322 on Thursday and made a high and low of 11370 and 11257 respectively before closing negative at 11314.
Review/Outlook:
For the day, support for Nifty exists at 11250 and 11180 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 11370 and 11450 levels.

Bank Nifty opened gap down at 28607, made a high of 28769, low of 28241, and closed negative at 28414. For the day, support for Bank Nifty exists at 28200 and 28000 levels whereas resistance for Bank Nifty stands at 28600 and 28800 levels. |

The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), on Thursday said that it has achieved a sales milestone of over 10 lakh units from its Nexa premium retail network. The company had launched Nexa network in 2015 and currently sells models like Ciaz, S-Cross and Baleno from the retail channel. (BL). |

Tata Motors on Thursday said it will launch Nexon EV in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal, with price expected to be in the range of Rs.15-17 lakh. The vehicle will be powered by the company’s recently introduced Ziptron Technology. The Competition Commission of India has approved the proposed equity investment from a Tata Group entity and affiliates of GIC and SSG in GMR Airports Limited, a subsidiary of the GMR Infrastructure Limited. In a regulatory filing, the diversified infrastructure company has informed today about the CCI approval. This will pave way for infusion of Rs.8,000 crore into the airport business for 45 per cent stake, estimated to be valued at Rs.18,000 crore. (BL). |

Varanium Capital has announced the first close of its SEBI-registered AIF Category 1-Venture Capital Fund, ‘Varanium NexGen’. This is a Rs.200-crorefund focussed on investing in promising early-stage fintech start-ups. Varanium Capital is a boutique asset management company with an AUM of over Rs.5,000 crore. (BL). |
The crisis-ridden NCDEX has squared off castorseed contracts worth Rs.735 crore of the defaulting clients to douse the raging controversy for now, using the contract tear-up option for the first time ever. It has also auctioned 370 tonnes of buy positions at the reserve price of Rs.4,650 crore to avoid a potential default during the October contract settlement, which will begin from October 11. (ET).

The petrol and diesel prices are expected to cool down over the coming weeks as global petroleum product prices are also easing according to IndianOil. The price of petrol fell by 10 paisa to Rs.74.51 per litre and diesel by 6 paisa to Rs.67.43 a litre on Thursday. This is first cut in auto fuel prices since September 14 after a drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s crude oil processing facilities hit the Kingdom’s oil production by half. (BL). |
A Royal Dutch Shell Plc division took a 20 per cent stake in Indian solar firm Orb Energy Pvt Ltd as part of a drive to deliver a reliable source of electricity to 10 crore people in the developing world by 2030. Orb Energy, based in Bengaluru, provides credit to small and medium-sized firms to invest in solar panel systems. Founded in 2006, Orb Energy has sold over 1.6 lakh solar systems in India with a total capacity of 75 megawatts. (ET). |

DJIA and NASDAQ Composite
US markets climbed on Thursday after data showing U.S. services-sector activity at a three-year low fueled expectations that the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates to stem a wider economic downturn. The Dow Jones Index closed at 26,201,
up 122.42 points by 0.47%. The Standard & Poors 500 index closed at 2,911, up 23.02 points by 0.80%. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 7,872, up 87.02 points by 1.12%.
FTSE 100
UK markets slipped lower still on Thursday, even as some economists said that the latest services data suggested that the UK economy had slipped into recession and data published in the US appeared to show that weakness in manufacturing was making its way into the rest of the American economy. The FTSE 100 index closed at 7,078, down 44.90 points by 0.63%. |

Precious Metals
Gold prices settled higher Thursday, tallying a third consecutive session gain, as a drop in the September U.S. ISM services sector index fed worries about the health of the economy, boosting haven demand for the precious metal.
Base Metals
The three-month lead price on the London Metal Exchange was higher at the close of trading on Thursday October 3, with the price closing above $2,100 per tonne amid thin volumes, while copper futures failed to test nearby resistance.
Crude Oil
Oil futures dropped on Thursday, with the U.S. benchmark suffering from an eighth straight daily decline and another finish at its lowest in two months, as worries over global demand persist. |
